Shrek
My A4 has not been started since early March of last year 2020 due to me being locked out of the USA from 1/2 an hour away from my boat in Canada. I know I have some blow by issues and had a little blue smoke last time it ran and also have heavier than normal oil consumption at just under a litre per long day of cruising with the engine at 1800 rpm mostly. What would be your advice for a restarting procedure when I can eventually get back to normal.
I am tempted to think that MMO should be squirted down each cylinder (how much MMO) and allowed to remain overnite to let the rings get softened somewhat. Followed by a few short turns with the coil main lead removed to start some oil movement without the engine actually starting.
Any advice would be welcomed.

Gordon, the slash tube you are missing is removed for the PCV system anyway so no worries. Be prepared for carburetor tuning difficulties with the PCV though. Dave Neptune has it figured out pretty well so once the system is installed you might want to contact him.
Your engine is definitely a late model. The oil fill is typically located on the reversing gear cover on V drives for easy access.
