Anyone drill out the non-existent water jacket holes in their head?

    Hi team,
I have the head off and see 5 etched spots in the head where there are water jacket holes in the block but no matching holes in the head. Anyone drill out those non-existent water jacket holes in their head?
I searched and read a post Don made that there were changes in coolant passage design over the years. I get that. But now that the head is off, I'm able to drill them out IF it's advised. More holes = more better? More holes = more problems? Can they even take a hole there?

Looking for input on this. Pros? Cons?

    Thanks!

The head might have been used on a different block at one time. I just took mine off to and noticed the same thing. Beats me

I would go softly on this. There may be directional issues in the coolant flow and by opening up those holes you might set flow against itself. Don't do it unless you have a spare head to replace with. I do respect the pioneering spirit, but leave yourself room to retreat.
