Back in the water storage and maintenance

It seems like forever, after our last run to Florida and back we played all summer and pulled the boat for the winter.
Last summer came and went by and then came this last winter!
I was worried some, she has been on the hard I guess 17 18 months
Before she was put on the hard (we only use Ethenal free gas) we shut off the fuel and ran it until she quit. I was hoping this would get most of the fuel out of the carb.
Then we did the regular stuff pull the plugs and put a small amount of lubricant.
Winterized the motor and all the other things on the boat that require the same.
During the time she sat on the hard Trima and I did make it to the boat and regularly used the hand crank and turned the engine a few turns.
We also waxed and polished. We did loose some of the wood to the elements but that's just some work to shine her up.

Well today after Some clean up and scrub during the last couple weeks, bottom job, fixed a few bad spots from our last trip, yes we did ding her a couple times!
We pumped out the old gas and put it in the farm truck!
Then We put new fuel in the boat

We splashed her today!
I had my worries but Trina was so sure of the boat she was glowing with excitement.
Still in the sling checking for leaks and checking the new packing in the shaft packing nut, all looking good.
Now it was time to start her up and pull out...
After a couple tries she came up to oil pressure and started like the day we put the motor in the boat! No burb, fart nada. She was running great.
We took her for a short run around the marina and let the engine warm up and run for about fifteen minutes.
What a great day I just had to share it. We put all the goodies back on the boat and we're getting rocked to sleep tonight

Thumbs up

PT26, That Trina is a special girl...continue to hold on to her tight!! The steps you took prior to mothballing the boat obviously paid off!!!

Glad the boat is running well too! Please let me know when you are in Solomons again!!

Thanks SaStanley, she sure is the best!
We just fueled up added a extra jug of fuel to the forward stanchion, filled the boat full of food and beer
Trina had a great idea, no sense putting it in the water to watch the grass grow.
So Monday morning first light we head out on the Chesapeake for a test run! We will give you a shout if we come that way.
