Lightbulb Oxidation on windows.

For those of you that have plexi-glass or other composite windows that are fading and getting hard to look through....try this.

Launched the boat yesterday and of course there was a 40 of Rum - Goslings Black Seal. Anyway, 3 sheets to the wind and just glanced at the windows. Said to myself .. "I should have replaced those windows this year".

Not sure if it was the way the sun hit the windows or I was just drunk...but headlights came to mind. So I called my wife to bring down my headlight lense cleaner stuff. Took about 10 minutes to bring those windows back to normal.

Goslings is wonderful stuff.

Years ago I overheard some people at a canvass maker talking about coating
their dodger's plastic windows with original pledge every few weeks. They
had a 20 year old dodger with original windows with them.
I have not followed this advice, but maybe I should have.
Regards

Art

Invest in what you know, and leave the rest to foolish speculators.

Sorry so late getting back here guys....had engine issues that are now sorted out.

The 3m stuff is the same idea. I forget the name of the stuff I used. Comes in a bottle like a liquid car wax. Has the consistency of fine rubbing compound, however, did have a hint of that car wax smell. Just rubbed it on and kept rubbing until it was clear....and so was the window. I left the bottle on the boat...will check the name of it tomorrow for you. It is marketed as headlight lens cleaner.

Are you talking about 3M Finesse-it?

It has a "cut" equivalent of about 2000 grit wet/dry.

Blue Magic Headlight cleaner.

The stuff I have is called "Blue Magic" headlight lens cleaner. It's pasty / liquid wax looking.
