An optical illusion.

The only thing attached to the carb is the flame suppressor.

Forward of that, screwed into the oil port, are two oil pressure senders. One is for the low OP alarm; the other is for the electric OP gauge.

I do like the contrasting colors on Gary's A4. Blue hoses are sexy. Green is pretty coo too. Can you put up a pic? I wonder what flat black and or chrome would look like. Pimp my A4, hahaha!

powder coating

probably pulling my engine this fall for a rebuild.
my kid brother has set up a powder coating operation and we talked the other night about doing bits and pieces from the A4. everything including the head....but not the block.
any thoughts pro or con?
right now it is rust colored.....

Powder coating has been discussed here before and here are my feelings on it's use. If the parts are prepped properly and the powder is applied and baked correctly you will wind up with a durable, long lasting finish, but, once it becomes nicked or scratched rust will tend to "migrate" under it's surface. Paint, on the other-hand, while not being as tough, can be sanded and touched up whenever damage does occur.
