    Impeller Woes

I have had a hard time finding the correct impeller for my atomic four. It is fresh water cooled without a heat exchanger. When I bought my 1970 CAL 29, I bought a spare impeller and gasket at my local Mike's Marine. When the impeller failed I realised that the impeller I had bought was too large (2" x 7/8" with a 1/2" D bore) The impeller that was in the pump was a JABSCO 4528-01 (1 5/8" x 3/4" with a 3/8 plain bore and a screw), so I bought one of those. While this seems the right size there is a pin permanantly affixed to the impeller. The one that came out seemed to have been modified by removing the pin and tapping it for the screw (#10-32)

Has anyone seen this before? What is the correct impeller? Does it come with a screw? Is modifying the impeller recommended?

I believe that Jabsco did commonly use a machine screw to hold the impeller on the shaft.
