Thumbs Up for Moyer Marine
My old water pump started leaking and I called Ken at Moyer to order a new Moyer marine water pump. He asked me all the right questions and I ordered a new water pump. It arrived yesterday and I looked it over and in the box. With all the general directions on water pump install was a slip of paper with some additional instructions. It advised to install the pump only hand tight and run the engine for about a minute so the pump could align itself properly with the shaft. Its a small thing but I don't think I would have thought to do this. After reading this instruction it makes perfect sense. Without this bit of great advice I would have bolted the pump on and tightened it up and went sailing without giving any thought to the pump's alignment with the shaft. Also, the new Moyer water pump is a thing to behold. Solid brass and weighs in at about 5 lbs. This thing is built to last. What would we all do without these guys. The devils in the details.
Thank you Moyer Marine. signed DVD |

New water pump installed
Just installed the new water pump and the old girl is humming along. No problems. The new pump went right on and works great. A friend of mine (a diesel guy) thinks A-4 people are all members of the A-4 cult following.

If you haven't already done so, read the story of how it all started here.
The whole notion of a website and an online store was born later after a couple of bottles of wine at a marina in Oxford, Maryland, which included an "animated" discussion about why you should own the barbershop and not just be a barber. Oxford, by the way, was where the movie, "Failure to Launch" was filmed. The notion of Afourians just came to me later, and I am very proud of it. That, and "UHS." Long time ago. And Another Thing......
When I replaced my tired Oberdorfer with the Moyer pump on my RWC engine the fully warmed up running temp dropped from 155 degrees to 130 degrees.
The Moyer pump is much better pump. ex TRUE GRIT |

I hope you’re happy. Since the popup-on-hover functionality doesn’t work on an iPad, I had to dig around for ten minutes to decrypt “UHS.”

May I suggest the addition of an app (one that includes the forum of course)?

No cooling water coming out RWC
I installed my new Moyer water pump the other day and after the install I started the engine up and she was working fine water coming out the exhaust. I normally don’t close off the thru hull but since I was removing hoses etc installing the new pump I felt that I should close the engine thru Hull. I made a note so I wouldn’t forget to open. Today I saw my note opened the thru Hull and started the engine. No water coming out of the exhaust. I started at the hose going into the pump. I removed it and water would flow out of it. Put that one back on and took off the hose from the pump to the engine started the engine and no water coming out of the pump. I checked the impeller by removing the backing plate and cranking the engine over. The impeller is spinning. If water is going into the pump what gives.
Any comments would be great |

If my thoughts on my research serve me correctly, the thermostat regulates the flow of water. Maybe bc the engine wasn’t hot enough for the thermostat to turn on the water flow? I have and could be wrong on this mind you. It’s happened many times. Just my two cents. I’m sure other members will chime in soon.

I installed it the same as the replaced oberdorffer. Also the other day after the new install it was batching fine. I must have some sort of blockage of the water supply. There was some floating debris in my slip I noticed as I was leaving to boat. I normally have an upwind slip but the winds have been coming out of the south lately.
