Edson engine controls

I am looking for engine controls for a classic pedestal (approx. 6-7/8" top diameter) suitable for an A4 of course. This is the one with a longer transmission shift lever that operates port to starboard rather than fore and aft like the throttle control.

Pls let me know if you have or know of one for sale.

Many thanks.

I take it that you are looking for a used set?

New controls are still available from Edson.

Yes. Sorry I should have stated that. Also, I have heard conflicting info frmo Edson re whether the currently available controls will fit my old (late '60's) pedestal.

Contact Minney's in Newport Beach, CA minneys@aol.com and send them a picture of what you're after. They have these occasionally. I haven't been there in a while so I don't know what is currently on the shelf.

Another place is Sailboat Junkyard dantheboatman@aol.com in Long Beach, CA.

Neither of these companies have useful websites so direct contact works best. If I were in the area and had the time I'd scout them out for you.

On the East Coast, in the Annapolis area, two great sources of used parts are Bacon Sails (http://www.baconsails.com) and Fairwinds Marina (http://www.fairwindsmarina.com/). Both have large "junkyard" type inventory in large wharehouses that are not inventoried on their websites, so you'll have to call or visit (worth the trip!).

tmjb,

I stopped by Minney's yesterday and had a look around. There are no pedestal mount engine controls on the shelf at this time. If you are interested though there are quite a few instrument pods with a variety of mounting brackets. Here's a pic of my pods
