The Carburetor Refactory, Richmond, CA
My carburetor was the likely source of a gas smell that was also setting off my fume sniffer. So, I pulled it and took it to The Carburetor Refactory in Richmond. The owner, Merrill, rebuilt it (plus re-bushed the throttle assembly), and tested it to be up to spec. When I picked it up, he also explained to me why he thought it wasn't metering gas correctly. I reinstalled it, and it runs perfectly now.
$165 OTD, and two day turn around (more like a day and a half). A good option here's his website: http://www.carbkits.com/ |

Bit more please.
Chris, good to hear you are happy with the rebuilders results. Did he tell you why the metering was off? Could be some good info to post. What "parts" did they change?
