    The Best of the Best

We're beta testing a new forum feature which identifies those posts selected as being especially helpful.

Each posting now allows the reader to "vote" for the post as being especially helpful. Look at the end of each posting for the image displayed below, and click on the Thumbs-Up icon if you'd like to cast your vote for it.

There's now a new category called "Best of the Best" which will display the top rated posts, as determined by your votes. You' see it just below the "Glossary of Terms" category. Click on this category to view these "best of the best" forum entries. Note that you must be a validated forum member and you must be logged in to see this new category.

It will take a while to build up meaningful vote totals, but you may vote for posts published on the forum prior to the introduction of this new feature.

This is considered a beta test for the moment, in order for us to see how much interest and participation are generated.

On the Best of the Best page, what do the percentages signify?

I don't think they mean anything. We have the "Dislike" option turned off, so we only accept "Like" votes. Hence the 100% "Likes."

Oh, and Forum members may not vote for their own posts, not that they ever would, of course.

And I've noticed you can only vote on a post one time.

          Why, that's un-American! Or at least un-Chicagoan...
