    I see that, but I just cant believe that carbon steel is recommended and not 304ss. oh well, I'll look at the cost of the 316 and if it's in the budget I'll use it. If not, I'll go back with cs.

      I agree with you, how can black iron be good but 304 stainless not but there it is on their table of materials nevertheless. McMaster-Carr carries Sch80 SS in 316L. If nothing else you can use them for price comparison.
