leak in manifold
I just discovered a leak in the water passage of the manifold. ( Thanks Don for the Schrader valve trick to do a pressure test)
The crack is actually visible on the side of the manifold. Can JB-Weld fix the problem or do I have to consider getting a new manifold? Jean-Luc |

I'll let you decide if you have the access to make a good repair in this case; but in terms of repair materials, I've had better luck with the small fiber glass repair kits from West Marine in making repairs to leaks in water jackets than with any of the other products on the market. The kit includes a small container of glass powder which you mix with the epoxy until it becomes the consistency of thin mayonnaise. This recipe gives the epoxy good adhesive qualities as well as good strength. The secret to success is in cleaning the metal thoroughly so the epoxy gets a good grip.
