    Solenoid removal

    How do you remove the solenoid?,

      Do you mean the coil (the "stock" location is on the transmission end of the engine) or the starter solenoid (located on the starter)?

          Here's a photo of my solenoid.
          The arrow marked CS goes to a bolt that holds the solenoid lever. Remove this bolt as well as the two cap screws at the other arrows (with the dots) and the solenoid and its lever arm will pull out of the starter. Reassembly is the reverse, but much easier if the starter is removed from the engine as then you can see where the lever arm is going.

            Thanks for the info. One more question. How does the rod that stickes out of the back of the soleniod factor into tne removal?

              The rod in the solenoid attaches to the end of the lever. After the solenoid and lever are removed as an assembly, the connection between the rod and the lever will be accessible - NOT before.
