early vs late model
Quick Foot Print question: Does the late model and early model have the same dimensions? My boat currently has a hybrid early model, if i replace it with a late model will it be "drop in"?

Though I am not a expert on late vs early model engines. the differences
are mostly minor, possibly location of the oil fill may be on the front vs rear (some early models). They should generally be a drop in . |

Early vs late?
I found this post and I'm wondering what you found out as there seems no answer. I have a '69 A4 I'm planning on replacing with a running Very Early Utility 4 which was built on the same block as the early A4.

I recall seeing a picture of the utility 4, was used in the 50's. Looks close but not the same.

Just got off the phone with a guy at Moyer Marine. I had the same question and was told that it was a direct bolt in. No dimension difference as far as prop shaft flanges, motor mounts etc...
