Rotor
So ....the saga continues! The engine was running, but no power under load. I figured the issue was some dirt in the carb....so took out the main jet plug and ran some fuel through the carb. Then.....would not start!!!!....found a wire off the coil...Ah-Ah!!... still would not start! Checked the choke adjustment...all OK....checked the rotor twice...seems loose...but need another set of eyes and hands to check for spark.....will do this tomorrow. In the meantime....thought I would check with the masters on the forum......any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Rotor
All is well.....went to the boat this morning with "another pair of hands" and did the spark check......no spark! Pulled the coil wire and found a little corrosion, cleaned it up, pulled the distributor cap, and put the old rotor back on.....vrrrrmmmmm!!! I had recently made up and installed a new set of plug wires.....including the coil wire.....and I think that might have contributed to the issue...will put all the old plug wires on another day!!
Which proves the old saying.....if it is working well....don't fix it!!! |
