    Identifying old alternator.

I am cleaning out the garage and I have come across a few spare parts from an old A4. I do miss that engine and working on it. I can't tell you how helpful Moyer Marine and the Moyer community was for me. Anyway, I found this starter under the bench in a box, the metal tag has come off so I do not know what brand or size it is. I plan on taking it to our local shop and having it tested, it was working fine prior to being updated. Thanks for your help,
    Terry

It's not just any starter - it's a "Prestolite" early model A-4 starter!!!

          Is that bare metal or...rust???

The outside is painted grey, with dirt and minor rust. I did not look at the gear teeth to see their condition. I can bring it to the shop tomorrow and clean it and see what she looks like. If anyone is looking for a spare, feel free to contact me.
Thanks for all the help, this is why I miss having a spare A4 in the garage!
