Fuel arrestor thumbscrew?
I've taken a bunch of pictures of my engine in order to see places I can't get my big head into, and this one puzzles me. It looks like someone put a thumbscrew on the arrestor, maybe to make it easy to get off without tools, but could there be another reason for it?
Here's the pic: Thanks! |

Good idea! One less tool to have to drag into the bilge for fogging/winterizing. Another item for the "Wish List" thread?!

Thumbs up for thumb screw on arrestor!
Yes! I imagine them to be a big help even for smaller thumbs in the fall.

We actually had a knurled knob for the flame arrestor housing on our catalog many years ago and eventually took it off due to lackluster sales. Perhaps we should try again.

Flame arrestor knurled retaining screw - late model
Launched today:
Flame arrestor knurled retaining screw - late model This retaining screw makes it possible to remove and replace a late model flame arrestor without the use of a screwdriver for engine installations where access is a problem. Thanks to Baltimore Sailor for the idea. Don |
