A general BOAT electrical question
I have a typical marine 2 battery, 4-position battery on my boat switch.
Battery 1---- Battery 2---- Both--- Off. If I am doing electrical work on a car, I disconnect a battery cable. If I set the boat switch to OFF is that equivalent to disconnecting the battery cable? Thanks Guys! Charles AKins |

yes...turning the master switch to "off" disconnects the batteries from the main panel, unless you have made a direct fused connection to the battery posts say for a VHF radio, bilge pump, etc.
