Not hard to do Art.

Art,

I give you an idea of how I do it. I just played with youtube about a year ago and figured it out. For the life of me I couldn't tell you the exact steps right now but it wasn't that hard. If I could do it anyone can.

- I take video with my camera
- Download the video to "my pictures" or "my videos" on the computer
- Type in youtube and register...use a password etc that's easy for you
- Once registered and you set up a "channel"...that might even be part of the registration...I think it was. mine is mmullaley
- Somewhere there is a "upload a video" button. Click that and browse your " my pictures" for the video you saved and double click.
- It will upload the video...
- you will see areas there to add info if you want

....not that hard at all Art. Just have to play with it and then it's easy.

I think I'm ready to go at it again.

Well that's it...I've had enough of winter and want to get my boat back in again. This year I don't have much work on her. I need to replace one battery and have a new glass replaced in the forward hatch. The dodger and 100% are out for new windows and reinforcement ... the sail will have reinforcement of the trailing edge...minor technical difficulties.

Then I get to

Thumbs up

Well..after sailing around in '35 knots, easy' you probably need new windows in your dodger!!!

Nice work, Mo.

I do not sail in 35 knots if I can avoid it, but I have done so..Ask my wife about her 40th birthday someday.. (43 knots on the anemometer when I had the boat under control enough that I could check the wind speed....borrowed boat, but we made it to our destination. This was on the Tartan 3000 I speak of often...Thanks to my stepfather for having a wonderfully prepared boat that could handle the squall.)

My boat does not have a wind machine. I really wanted to install one when I had the mast down for refurbishment a few years ago, but could not justify the cost. I have a $15 Amazon handheld unit that will give me the data I want at deck level if I need it.

I have a hand-held as well Shawn. I knew the wind was 35 because traffic told me wind was steady 35 gusting to 45 at times. That was actually a decent sail as a front was passing through...the sky was clear with fast moving clouds. A few minutes after that video was taken a J24 got knocked down and SANK during a race. When she went over her boards fell out of the companionway and she took on water. I headed over but a safety zodiac picked up the guys. The J24 submerged 30 feet or something, but no further...water in the area was about 90 feet deep. By that evening she was hoisted out of the water...divers put an airbag on her and inflated it and she shot to the surface.

I'm getting to old to play like I used to...fall of the year is great sailing here but winds are commonly 25+ kts. I love it, the boat flies and I feel alive....then I go home and popping Motrin tablets to keep the body moving. LOL It wasn't long ago that none of that bothered me at all.

RC - I have this one. Haven't used it much yet, but at $13.xx I am not worried if it breaks either.

Mo, We've had a J/24 sink here in our club as well. In our case, they were knocked down and the cockpit lockers were not latched and the boat went down. Everyone in the club starting latching the lockers after that.
