where the heck is the raw water grease nipple?
I have searched the manual and I have felt around the side and the back of the engine and I can't find it. I'm going on feel only, obviously. Can someone hep me narrow down the search?
Thanks! |

I think you should be searching for a grease cup, not a nipple style zirk. Here's a link to a picture of what I'm talking about. I think the whole thread is about what you are doing.
http://www.moyermarine.com/forums/sh...3&postcount=31 I grab the digital camera and use it for a "mirror" when I can't see into some spot like that. Cheers, Russ P.S. Welcome!

You might also want to confirm you actually have one. The water pump on my engine had been replaced with a newer MMI unit before I got my boat, and the newer pumps don't have the grease cup.

What Russ and Bill said...
You need to first determine WHAT pump you have. Use a mirror or camera and you'll be able to see it. Does it look like either of these? Note that the pump in the bottom pic is like the one Bill is talking about and has no grease cup What kind of boat do you have that you have such a limited visibility? Oh, and welcome to the forum!

And, just in the interest of completeness, here is a pic showing the pump on the motor with the grease cup marked.
