Morse cable clevis end size

I had to cut the clevis fitting on the end of my shift cable in half to get it off. It was rusted to the lever and no amount of PB Blaster and heat would get it off.

I forgot to remove the remnant from the end of the cable to bring home for ordering purposes and I like to have a new one for next weekend.

Anyone know the proper size off the top of your head?

Thanx

Shifting cable size

Rick,

The original Morse 6400 series shifting cables had 5/16" X 24 male threads on their end fittings. I'm afraid it won't be all that easy to find a clevis/turnbuckle with 5/16" female threads and a clevis opening of 9/16" which is what the original Universal shifting lever had (and with 3/8" diameter holes for the retaining pin). You may have to get as close as you can and then grind the width of your lever down a bit. Don

Thank you Don. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it, right?

Thanx Neil! I ordered one...we'll see how the modification goes.

I haven't ordered from Catalina Direct since I sold my C22. They made a lot of money off of me back in the day. I guess there's no getting away from them!
