In my experience, some trace of milkiness remains after even 4 oil changes. A flush with kerosene or varsol may help. If you've got it down to where it behaves like oil instead of a milkshake, with just a trace of water color , you may just have to run it up to temp to "cook off" the last trace of water.

Exclamation

Many times a bit of "dishwashing soap" added to the oil when flushing will absorb more of the water into the oil.

I will usually do two changes with the cheapist oil I can find then add you preferred oil. It may be a bit milky still but after a couple of hours running the water will evaporate out of the system.

YOU CAN NEVER GET ALL OF THE OIL OUT BY SUCKING AND FLUSHING!!!!!!!!!! There will be some left that will only evaporate out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My problem is solved! I moved the bucket (my boat is on the hard) down below next to the engine. This way my vent loop is above it. And bingo! Three oil changes later all milky liquid is gone. Guess I should have listened to my wife who was telling me to try this solution since last weekend. But I could never imagine that so much water could syphone after the engine is shut down. In retrospect I am happy with the ending. The engine got some upgrades and hopefully will work better despite the water incursion. And I've learned few important things and nifty tricks. Thanks everyone for help and advise. You guys rock. I don't know what I would have been doing without this forum.

That is fantastic news to hear. I too solved my issue however I don't know how. I'll document it better in my post.

Just for future reference I am attaching a file that explains some exhaust issues with Catalina 30. I found it very helpful when analyzing my issue. Full credit goes to Don Moyer, who posted this file in several posts that I came across. Thanks Don.

Tis must be the season. Same issues I've posted. Will move the bucket to the cabin sole but I've been doing this for years and it has never been a problem...well worth a try. Thanks
