plugs wet with fuel / add stat / hotter plugs?

(posting for some1 else)

late model - tstat was missing. Recently cleaned alot of crud out of block. Motor runs fine hours on end, but plugs wet with fuel / struggles to start after running.

I blocked off the bypass hose since there was no tstat installed but im thinking the motor is running too cold -

I suggest running a range or 2 hotter plug and/or installing the stat..

otherwise everything runs gr8 - starts instantly and all ignition components new-

Blocking off the bypass directs more water into the block, cooling the engine more. Reinstalling the tstat or going with hotter plugs won't necessarily make it run hotter. I wouldn't worry too much about running cold, just run it long enough to get it warm. Plugs wet with fuel seems to indicate less spark after the ignition components were installed. Perhaps timing needs to be adjusted. I don't know what could cause it to start instantly when cold, but not start when warmed up. Others on this forum will no doubt enlighten us.

Blocking the bypass will only make the engine run cooler. But, IMHO, this isn't your problem.
I'm confused - struggles to start/ starts instantly. More info?
Are you sure the plugs are wet with fuel (not oil or water)?
You may just be running rich (too rich). A cold engine should need choke to start.
