Wayner on 1981 Tartan 30
I have an Atomic 4 that just started to die when RPMs increase runs well on idle. It is not a fuel issue checked that. Does anyone suggest it may be a coil issue. Spark seems to be weak.

Welcome to the forum Wayner.
Question, does this happen when it's in neutral as well as in gear?

Wayner,
Welcome to the forum! With an '81 hull, that must be a Tartan 3000. Definately address the weak spark issue - ignition parts are not expensive. Start with new condenser, clean points and see what happens. While you're in the distributor, remove the plate and check the advance mechanism - could be causing RPM related issues. |
