Repair sleeve for output coupling

My A4 is leaking badly out of the rear seal. I pulled the coupling and seal carrier, and the coupling is badly grooved where the seal rides. I see this part: Repair sleeve for output coupling, OREV_06_170, which is SS though only $4 less than a new coupling.

I am assuming that this is to repair just such a groove, and that once installed, should be more durable than the original mild steel sealing surface. Is this all true, and if so, does it come with instructions?

Thumbs up

nesdon, those type of sleeves are for creating a new surface for the seal. This sleeve slides on the shaft for reassembly where the seal made contact. These sleeves work quite well. A new seal will also be required.
