Repair sleeve for output coupling
My A4 is leaking badly out of the rear seal. I pulled the coupling and seal carrier, and the coupling is badly grooved where the seal rides. I see this part: Repair sleeve for output coupling, OREV_06_170, which is SS though only $4 less than a new coupling.
I am assuming that this is to repair just such a groove, and that once installed, should be more durable than the original mild steel sealing surface. Is this all true, and if so, does it come with instructions? |

nesdon, those type of sleeves are for creating a new surface for the seal. This sleeve slides on the shaft for reassembly where the seal made contact. These sleeves work quite well. A new seal will also be required.

I've found the answers to my questions, so I'm all good.
