Direct Drive Prop Shaft Coupler
Does anyone know what size and grade bolts fit this. Had to cut mine out. I think they are a 3/8" fine thread, but not sure of length.

3/8-24 UNF is correct. Length depends on your coupling. Measuring mine wouldn't help you as I have a DriveSaver that uses socket head cap screws.
And FWIW, DriveSaver sent the wrong length cap screws with the unit (and no high collar lock washers). Go with the Grade 8 fasteners, not much more expensive and probably easier to find (NAPA) than the Grade 5s. Oh yeah, Grade 8s have 5 slash marks on the head (figure the logic in that??). You'll probably have to buy the bolts a little long then trim them down with a grinder (or else add washers). You want a full thread coming through the transmission flange, but not much more than that. Hey, at least there's only 3 of them (unless you have a reduction gear). |
