Shift lever Plate failed

Hi, I have a tartan 27, with rebuilt (by Don) A4.

Original morse shift lever , side mounted in cockpit. Yesterday when I pushed into forward, the lever just flopped forward, turned out the metal plate on back side of cockpit corroded entirely where all the bolts held it to the lever - It's still got a part number on it!( B35609A)

Can a replacement plate be found? Should I get someone to machine one? Are there replacements? I see that teleflex has taken over Morse, and do offer a side mount control for a few hundred bucks, but I'm looking to get this done for less than that.

Any thoughts? Thanks, Bob Scott
