Beginner question about fuel filter!
Hi Guys & Gals
I have a question about the fuel system. I have a clear fuel filter so after I had bleed some fuel through the fuel bowl it was almost full. I then started the engine and after 40 min in idle I noticed that the fuel filter was kinda empty (i.e. full of air) but the motor was still running. The question is: Is that normal? I would imagine that there should be fuel in the filter all the time. Thanks |

In my experience the only time my inline filter collected air was when I had an air leak. At idle it was OK, still running, but under load it would suck the filter dry, stall out and die. Check all the connections. You can have an air leak with out a visible fuel leak. Dan S/V Marian Claire

fuel filter
If you have a clear filter it is not approved for use in an enclosed engine compartment change it to metal
