    A general BOAT electrical question

I have a typical marine 2 battery, 4-position battery on my boat switch.

Battery 1---- Battery 2---- Both--- Off.

If I am doing electrical work on a car, I disconnect a battery cable. If I set the boat switch to OFF is that equivalent to disconnecting the battery cable?

    Thanks Guys!

yes...turning the master switch to "off" disconnects the batteries from the main panel, unless you have made a direct fused connection to the battery posts say for a VHF radio, bilge pump, etc.
