Vacume Reading

Don-

My vacume gage is acting opposite my inuition. As I increase the throttle to full power, my vacume gage shows a decreasing vacume to 0-- I would have thought it would either hold steady or increase. Is that normal or do I have some sort of issue. Everything seems normal otherwise.

Thanks Brad

Brad,

One of my most prized possessions is an archival hand written chart of test stand readings taken on the Atomic 4 by Universal personal in the mid 50's. In this parched document, I can read that the vacuum at idle was noted to be 16", at half throttle (1500 RPM) 14", and at full throttle (which they say was at 3500 RPM) the vacuum reading was 3".

From one of our own vacuum tests we can add a value of 9" at 2000 RPM in case you'd like to plot a curve.

Don
