Hey, I love it! I've just gotta try it. Somebody must have told the designer about the KISS principle. And what is that wire connected to the thermostat housing for?

I just used this same technique. I took the gauge fitting off of my compression gauge, and since I didn't have a balloon on board, I cut the finger off a latex glove and taped it to the plug hole fitting. Worked like a charm!
