    1976 Late Model Atomic 4

I am doing it. My father and brother are both diesel nuts (and sailors) and have convinced me to shake loose of the A4 and go diesel. So here it is for sale.

I have a 1976 Atomic 4. 1:1 Gear. Raw water cooled. Motor allegedly sat in boat in a yard dry for 10+ years. The motor has allegedly been taken down and rebuilt (per previous owner) but i cannot confirm. I however have added all sorts of parts a la moyer. Motor has new pertronix electronic ignition, new cap, wires, and plugs. Motor has new belts. New Mando alternator. Has facet electric fuel pump. Has oil pressure switch. Has crankcase rebreather/ pcv setup. Has new zenith updraft carburetor. Starter and waterpump are original to me, but pump seems to have the easy thumb screws on it so that may not be original. Engine runs and starts right up even after a long winter. Smokes a bit. Burns a little oil. I have had good success with it after adding all the new parts. Took me through cape cod canal and woods hole numerous times without concern or hiccup. I had it turning a max of 2200 rpm with an 11x7 wheel. Running takeout. I think this is either a perfect parts motor, a good runner (with some tlc along the way), or a great takedown and put back together (to eliminate burning oil and clean out water passages). Motor looks decent but as with most has some rust. I have invested over $1000.00 in motor.

Looking for $700.00. I will remove from boat. Located in Bourne, MA. You pick it up, I will entertain shipping ideas as I have crated diesels before but you are looking at about $200-$250 fedex. Thanks for reading. If interested send me a PM or reply to this post.
