    Blower ducting

When I bought my boat a little over a year ago, my broker gave me only 1 pearl of wisdom: Run the blower!! This is all well and good, and a certain must for safety's sake. What my broker did not tell me was that the ducting from the fan to the bilge should be checked. One day a few months back while replacing the exhaust hose from the water lift muffler to the through hull, I was moving the ducting for the blower around to get the old hose out. I noticed that the ducting was decayed to a point of ineffectiveness. I had a ton of air being moved out the output of the blower, but NONE of it from the bottom of the bilge where the fumes would be lying. Thankfully no bad things happened to my family, guests, and boat because of this. A good thing to check at the next opportunity!!

Great addition to the site Don!!! Safety first!!
