    About Me.

I have purchased a Pearson 30 with the atomic 4. Engine has been sitting for the last 4 years on a mooring with the cylinder head , manifold, carburetor, and alternator off the engine. Cylinder head had been sent to a machine shop for a make over. The thermostat housing had split. Purchased some parts, put everything back together found distributor had been turned 180 degrees. Finally got running to find there was not an impeller in the water pump. Finally got everything on and started to have the #1 cylinder exhaust valve stick in the open position. All valves where working fine when cranked by hand before starting. Many days of PB Blaster, MMO and Kroil and muscle it came free but would not close completely. More Blaster, MMO and Kroil and a week later found that there was a piece of the valve sleeve broken off and lodge in the exhaust port. Piece removed. So now it is time for some real fun remove spring and valve and then the sleeve. Will be looking to you guys for lots of advice.
    Thanks

This caught my eye right at the start. Have you checked the oil for both color and level since you had it running?
