Factory oil pressure recommendations
67, I don’t recall ever seeing an actual factory graph of recommended oil pressure at a full range of RPM settings. But, we recently constructed the attached homemade graph by combining and plotting the relatively few actual pressure recommendations that appeared in 5 different Owner’s Manuals throughout the 1970s. Even with the fewer than desired data points, the information presented at or around the recommended cruising power setting of 2000 RPM should give you a good frame of reference. Don

Amazing
I was just about to spend a few hours searching for this answer before asking the question. I'm still on the trailer doing a few test runs on a rebuilt engine (by the previous owner) and felt that idle pressure was too high.
Thanks Don. |
