I have to make a good guy recommendation for Billy (last name unknown), the mechanic at Zahniser's Yacht Yard in Solomon's Maryland. We had engine trouble with our 30 y/o A-4 at the end of last season, and fortunately we were near Solomon's. Billy ran diagnostics on our engine, answered all our questions, explained everything he was doing (which my wife appreciated - she's pretty knowledgeable and hates being "talked down to" by boat professionals), and after solving various minor problems, advised us of a bad bearing. At this point, we ordered a rebuilt exchange engine from Moyer, had it shipped to Zahniser's, where Billy did the installation. Everything seems great, and we couldn't be happier with the work and the way we were treated. Best part is, I now have a virtually new engine, after having learned all about it on the old one - I expect it to last a long, long time.
