Need new water jacket?

Hi folks

Attempting an overhaul, and my water jacket came back from the machine shop looking like this. The brass pipe cap looks pretty rugged, and there's a small hole on the side that (I'm pretty sure) shouldn't have one. Do I need a new one?

77, the brass fitting is the diverter and the hole in the side is to force water to the front (#4) of the block.

Both the side plate and the diverter are available from our host.

Thanks, Dave. By the look of my photo do you think I need a new diverter?

I'd suggest you look at it this way...
For the cost of the part, isn't it worth your peace of mind?

Is the pinhole you're talking about in the diverter or the sideplate? As for the diverter, here's a picture. You decide.
