Stalls and won't restart when hot

Had a recent issue happen a couple of time. Running engine for extended period (1-2 hours) and everything is good. When I throttle down all the way the engine stalls and won't restart for about 10 minutes or so.

After the wait it starts just fine.

What is the nature of the shut down? Sudden like somebody turned off the key or sputtering like the engine is out of fuel?
When you try to restart how much choke are you using during the no start time?
Let's start with a couple of diagnostics.
When you are in the no start mode take a voltage reading at coil +.
After you crank the engine in the no start mode does fuel accumulate in the throat of the carburetor?
Remember when you crank a no start engine to keep the raw water valve closed.
My working theory is you are running a bit rich. The scenario would be the engine can handle the richness at higher throttle settings but at lower throttle settings it dies due to the excess fuel. During the 10 wait the engine cools off enough that it will start in the over rich condition. Have you tried adjusting the idle?
More if I think of it.

It shut down like someone turned off the key. Also today the engine just lost a ton of power When in gear and would on rev to about 1000 or 1200 rpm under load but fine else wise and the was fine when cold.

The sudden shutdown sounds like a classic coil failure. Gets warm and dies, restarts on cooldown. I'd treat your engine to a new coil and see what happens. If that doesn't fix things, we can go from there.

          Is the prop fouled?
