    Electric Pump Question

    Don,

Why do you show a listing for two different electric fuel pumps in the online catalog. One is listed with 2-3 psi and one for Catalina 30 with 3-4 psi. If it's because of fuel tank location, what's special about the Catalina 30?
I'm putting together a spares kit and a back up fuel pump is on the list.

    Mike,

Universal settled on the Facet 2-3 psi pump for most all of their engines shipped in the mid to late 1970's. In boats where the fuel tank is located more than 8 to 10 feet from the engine and/or lower than the engine, they went to the 3-4 psi pump to make up for the additional head loss in the fuel supply system.

There are only a few boats in this category other than the Catalina 30, which is why we refer to the pump as the "Catalina 30 pump".
