    Carburetor mix adjustment screw extender

The adjustment screw is very difficult to access when hanging down in a lazarette to tweak...and I'm saying this from a boat with a V-drive, which offers pretty good access to most of the engine.

Along the same lines as the water pump bolt extender, which is a stroke of genius, how about an extended version for the carb adjustment, perhaps with a gnurled thumbscrew at the end so the tweaking could be made without having to thread a long flathead screwdriver (or a hand) alongside a hot engine?

I was going to say "This will awaken the sleeping lion!", but the poor guy's been up since before 5:00 am, answering emails.

Not really a bad idea. I'll run it by our "skunkworks" out behind our shop and see what comes out the other end.

I have, I think, the very first long carb idle screw. In my opinion it could be even longer, all the better to see and grab. Also, the end away from the carb, which is both knurled (presumably for finger adjustment) and slotted (for a flat-head screwdriver), cannot actually be manually adjusted, at least not by my fingers. It could have a much larger diameter -- more like the knurled replacement screw for the carb flame arrestor.

I bought one of those adjuster screws thinking I could do it by hand but found I just couldn't quite get my fingers around it. It does make a much better target for the screwdriver, however. Maybe a little "T" handle, like the main jet adjuster?
