New member with big oil leak

Another new guy (lurker) for a couple of years. My A-4 has been running well after a 2 year layup and new water separator filter. Now it is dumping clean oil into the bilge.
The flow, not a leak, is above the carburetor and pumps well during engine run. I added oil and got to the dock last night but now I have to mitigate oil in the bilge, and stop the leak.
I will have pictures this afternoon. It is not the flange attachment to the sending/pressure unit as that broke off several years ago.
1968 fresh water cooled with 440 hours on a PO rebuild.
Any troubleshooting help is greatly appreciated

Welcome to the party Snow.

The late model engine has three oil pressure ports on the carburetor side of the engine: the one you already know about that broke off some time ago right behind the flywheel, another above where the mechanical fuel pump mounts and a third halfway between those two right behind the carburetor. I suspect the middle port is the source of your issue.

Is the leak coming out of the block~manifold, the block or from under the head? Not a lot of oil galleys there. Is the oil coming out of the "valve cover" plate? The pics well help.

On very early A4 engines there was a valve lifter oil sprayer system that was fed from one of the block holes shown in Jerry's picture. If that line was cracked or loose, it would create a significant oil leak while the engine is running. This system was later deemed unnecessary and was discontinued.

Curious to hear/see more. The "above the carburetor" source makes me think valve cover, not oil port.

The amount of flow he reported made me think port. We'll see.

I am trying to post the video I shared on the A-30 page on FB. Till then, no I don't have the capture pipe on my engine, and the area of the leak is clear of ports. As the oil runs downhill to the stern, it make it hard to find a clear point of leak. Also the amount running is so great that I am hesitant to test run too long, both from a cleanup and engine damage standpoint.

Update please. Saw the video. Wow that is a leak. Don't feel bad mine all went into the bilge too, but much slower.
