Name these parts
There are some spare parts that came on my newly acquire used sailboat. Can anyone identify these?
The pictures below show a water pump gasket and a water pump impeller cover for a size reference. Thanks, Steve |

In the first photo the clue is right there -- autohelm. They are used
to attach a metal ring to your wheel which the band from the motor of the autopilot goes around. Extra plastic parts are sent to cope with wheels of more or fewer spokes. -jonathan |

On the lower picture the slotted stainless machine screws and the flat rubber flapper valves to the right look like parts from a rebuilding kit for a manual bilge pump called a Whale Gusher.

Jonathan,
Thanks. When I saw the autohelm label, I thought of the actual unit, not the additional parts that get attached to the wheel! Jay, Mystery solved! I found a large diaphragm on the boat also, but it doesn't fit the waste pump on the boat which is a Whale Gusher 8 Mk. III. But I bet the parts fit the bilge pump, which I haven't had time to check out yet. Thanks guys - Steve. |
