It Is Alive !!!
Hello all.
I have been very neglectful of my yacht this year. My excuse : an extended road trip for family of four to redwood and wine country , Northern California. Last monday I pulled the winter tarps. After 4 feverish days , yesterday we launched and stepped the tall rig. Then came The Moment : I hit the starter , and the old girl fired almost instantly ! Lots of smoke from the fall fog-out , oil pressure optimal , but water temp rose quickly to 200 , and water discharge seemed a bit weak. I decided that I would not let the high temp ruin a good day , so I shut her down and went to work for a few hours. Upon my return I lit off the mill again. Water discharge looked normal , batching and all , and the temp stabilized at about 115. Air lock? River crud at the intake? Who cares? Happy A-4 , happy skipper. End of report.
