Professor Emeritus/Emerita

A couple of recent posts remind me that some of our MVP’s stay with us and continue to contribute after having parted ways with their beloved A4’s. Noting this as well, a highly regarded forum member suggested that perhaps a new member designation might be appropriate for these folks, possibly “Professor Emeritus/Emerita.”

I like the idea very much and will be rolling it out today. I’m sure I’ll miss a few truly deserving members, and I hope you’ll point that out so I can make amends.

We now have 31 MVP's among our membership (now at more than 7,600), I believe.

Please consider adding JOHN COOKSON to your list. It would be an honor.
I also nominate Dave Neptune to be on the list.

Smile WOW

Bill, thanx I consider this an honor and truly appreciate it.

Thanx John for the shout out and your many contributions and insights.

I really enjoy assisting fellow boaters in learning the basics so their confidence in themselves, their boat and the safety of their crew becomes part of their boating practice!!

And a thanx to Don for providing such a wonderful boating maintenance site as the MMI Forum and it's illustrious manager Bill!!

Fixed. Showing both awards to eliminate any confusion.

I was somewhat stunned when I found myself on the MVP list some time ago!
I suggest that the 'emeritus' status be reserved for MVPs that no longer own an A4, either in a boat or a spare in the garage.

thank you to all MVP

I see nothing wrong about keeping an A4 in your garage, outside of the fact that it could be put at a better use with a needing boater. After only 5 years of ownership and a partial rebuilt that was only possible with MVPs' advice, I am about to give away my boat to friend as I am moving back to the other side of the pond... and I will admit that taking the engine with me, crossed my mind for more than a few minutes. DE-rusting and taking apart an engine like this creates an irrational bond. A cracked block well painted would be a great decoration in a man cave!
