How are you and the boat, lat64? Lots of shaking going on up there, we hear.

We good. I never felt it at home 350 miles away from epicenter. In-laws closer to quake had a mess of stuff knocked over to clean up.

Lots of fun stories and web memes are popping up. Best one so far is at:

There were "runs" at gas stations and liquor stores, but reports are that everyone was civil and helpful in the situation.

Russ, your itinerary may actually be not near us because of the water. By land, we are 65 miles southeast of D.C., but if you go via Virginia, we are not that way..and if you go via Route 50 to Chincoteague (via Bay Bridge in Annapolis), we are still 50 miles south on the Western side of the Chesapeake. We'd love to see you again if it works out!

Yea, We should MAKE it work out. We could get down your way after we are in Va. Either after or before we go to the coast. Somewhere in that we go up to try to Ed and Co.
I put your address on maps list. I see you have a few eateries around.

We can walk to a couple excellent eateries...just one of the many reasons we moved here in October...and I can ride my bicycle to the boat with my new "Island" rig.. We were doing race committee for Frostbites this day, however, yesterday I hauled 12 gallons of fuel to the boat with the trailer..

                  Shawn;

                  great pic!

The sailboat just to the right of the wooden piling in the water looks like its an Alberg design from here (ie. beautiful).. but then I am biased

Greg, give me a minute and I can pick them all out..this is our local fleet..no A-4's left in this group though.
                    Left to right:
Henderson 30 (no jib, roached main)
Custom 48 (this blue boat with white jib DID have a V-Drive A-4 20 some years ago.)
                    J-70
                    J-105 (rolled jib)
                    Solomons Entrance Marker lighted #3
Luders 44 Yawl with mizzen flying (Local Navy Sail Club folks use it for training)
                    Catalina 27

That is about half the fleet..we have 14-18 boats usually for Frostbites...the others are blocked or out of frame.

Shawn, I see a few rigs like that around here too. Awesome!

I PM'd you and Ed with some notes and itineraries and phone #s.
It looks like weather will be cool but not awful, so an indoor pub "raftup" can be likely. Sue and I like to walk, and any thing like a good hike to an establishment would be a welcome thing. Walking home is better too. We don't change our plans, we change our clothes.

I decided to pm anyone who wants my phone# rather than post it online.

                          Made A-4 contact in Maryland.
Chinese food with Ed and Joan and then shrimp n beer with Shawn and Laura.
We're dodging the rain now in Kitty Hawk.
Sorry to say we may miss Dan (of Marian Claire). We spent an extra day on OBX to maximize beach time. Going to be about 10-below zero at home so we will.need to build our reserves.
