Make safety your no. 1 priority!

The events I and my family witnessed today, really brought home the importance of safety, especially for those getting their boats out on the water for the 1st time this season ... or eagerly awaiting relaxation of quarantine restrictions in order to be able to do so. PLEASE spend the time to check out all your systems before heading out.

Now I don't know at this point, and frankly we may never know, the exact cause, but the explosion and fire that occurred today during fueling, almost next door to our house, has claimed one life and injured two others. A nice Mother's Day on the water turned horribly tragic. Several boats destroyed, several damaged and the fuel dock destroyed.

So sad!

Just yesterday I stopped by my favourite marine store. It was quiet, but the salesperson said 'really busy this morning ... guess everyone rushing to get out on the water this weekend for Mothers Day!'
