No. Most toggle switches are rated at no more than 10 amps. If you mean one wire is
from the alternator output (you said “
to the alternator”) then that can carry, and switch, the full alternator output. With your Motorola alternator that is 37A. A 10A toggle switch might last as long as several milliseconds before its contacts melted or vaporized. If you get a higher output alternator, you will need a switch that can safely handle switching the higher output, something like,
