Tie a couple of shock cords to the tiller and lead the other ends to a cleat on the combing. By adjusting the sheets, shock cords, and if you have one centerboard you can sail for hours without touching the tiller if the wind cooperates. The shock cords will return the tiller to the desired position as the boat sails over swells.
Fun to do on long boring passages.
