You can't get rid of us that easy

    It's been six years!

Well, like a bad penny, we'll be back in D.C. in December 10th-ish.

We are shmoozing at a meeting all that week, then renting a car on the 15th and headed off to drift around for eight days and wash up in Raleigh N.C.

It'd be fun to catch up with any old acquaintances or dock sailors for a libation and chat.

Or, any recommendations for things to do/places to see are welcome.

We're about to leave on our second trip south for the winter, but plan to fly home for the month of December for Christmas with the family, so we should be able to make a meetup. It'll be good to see you and Sue again!

      Keep us posted!

Traveling last year, I bought a six pack of Natty Boh from an Oriole souvenir shop at Fells Point. Back at the hotel I made it through half of the first can, threw the rest in the trash. Perhaps it's an acquired taste.

Neil, I am from here and I agree 100% on Natty Boh.

Russ, Laura and I just moved to Solomons Island. I can ride my bike to the boat!! If you are around here while you are here, let us know.

I'll second or third the thumbs down on Natty Bo beer. Water makes more sense.

Would love to meet Russ and other A4ians. Not sure if I'll be able to get there from NYC.

Which Ram's Head, there are 6 or 7 of them?

I'm game for a meet up if you decide to put one together! I'm midway between Baltimore and Annapolis.

True, there are many Ram's Head locations, but THE Ram's Head is the original one in Annapolis!

It seems I may not have a second career as a travel agent.

In the interest of full disclosure re the pushback on Natty Boh, I confess that I drink wine out of a box (which becomes just a bag on the boat). I do love Natty Boh, but I'm not sure it would do well in a blind taste test.

You see Natty Boh apparel (shirts, hats, etc.) all over the place here on the Eastern Shore, and I read somewhere that 90% of it is consumed in Baltimore.

I suspect there are other beers which are locally loved, but despised elsewhere. Like some of those from PA?

We made reservations for a B&B out on Chincoteague for the 15th–16th, but I see a few nice looking places in The Solomons. Our itinerary is flexible. It would be fun to see Shawn's boat.
I should assume the weather will be cool, so a Pub will probably be the likely venue to "raft up".

Neil, you should have just opened those beers at least. A puzzle under the cap of each one! Now that's value!
Prove you’re part of the club by spouting some serious knowledge next time you’re in Bohtimore, or just about any decent DC bar.

Russ, you will love Chincoteague. Oysters and some of the best clams you ever ate.

Just pray it doesn't snow. Years ago, we woke up to a 9" snowfall as we were preparing to head back home. I think we spent an extra four days there. There wasn't a snowplow in the whole county.

                            🛬🍻

                            It's getting close to d-day.
For anyone who gives a hoot, here's our loose itinerary updated:
                            • I will be alone wandering around the D.C. museums from the 10th to14th(wife has to work then)
                            • on Dec. 14, visit cousin in Virginia(That's a state, right?)
                            • Maybe stay in Va. another day.
                            • Drive out to Chincoteague on the 16–17th.
                            • Meander back and south, perhaps find Shawn's boat or See Ed and co.
                            • Move on south to N.C. as Dan of the Marion Claire has sent me some ideas/places to visit there like Beaufort.
                            • We must be in Raleigh for the night of22–23 to stage for flight home on the redeye Dec. 23rd.

I'll post my cell# on this thread for those days and then remove it so it's not up for creepers and spammers.

I hope we can connect while you're in town.

We're currently in Florida with the boat, but catching a flight home today. We'll be around 'til Dec 28, with the exception of the 14-16, when we'll be in W. Virginia ( that's a state ) visiting friends.
