When your ignition is in the start position there is no current going to your coil and when you let go from the start possion to run, the coill gets the current it needs to run

Take your time and don't force the crank to turn , If you can remove the valves , by all means take um out first . sometime its the valves and cam shaft that are keeping the crank from turning,...

A very good idea to listen Hanley.
I've rebuilt five Atomic 4s so far and I do an air pressure test on all the manifolds on the water jacket side . Out of the five there were two that leaked air...

If I were you , On the head studs I would put a vice grip on each of them and see if you get any movent, ( not to much force ) If not leave them alone. Also before you put the head back on...

Thats a great idea Keelcooler, How were you able to attach the plastic tube to the knob end of the choke cable.
